SuperFeast NEURAL NECTAR REVIEW BY DARCY - BIRCHER BAR FOUNDER & OWNER:

What I Like About It:

Noticeable Boost In Focus & Concentration While most medicinal mushrooms and tonic herbs are adaptogens that take some time to have a noticeable effect on the body, I felt the effects of this blend immediately.

From the very first teaspoon, I felt a definite increase in my focus & concentration, as well as general energy levels. I used it consistently for a few weeks in the mornings before sitting down at the computer and it really helped me stay on track with my writing and number-crunching tasks that I normally procrastinate far too long with!

Powerful FlavourThe tonic herbs in this mix wallop the taste buds. I like to mix most of my powdered extracts with coffee, but if I'm 100% honest, I didn't like this mix in my normal coffee at all - a bulletproof coffee is a different story though. It also works well in tea with a bit of honey or maple to sweeten. Don't take my word for it though - taste is a very personal thing, you'll have to give it a try for yourself!

Incredible Product & Company – SuperFeast are undoubtedly one of the best Australian producers of medicinal mushrooms and tonic herb extracts. They consciously source all of their raw ingredients 'Di Tao' and work closely to support and contribute to the local families and communities in these remote regions.

Something To Consider:

The tonic herbs in this blend are generally safe to take but could have interactions with anti-depressants, blood-thinning medication, or other drugs. If you are taking any kind of medication, or are pregnant or breastfeeding - consult your doctor or medical practitioner before taking.

In Summary:

PROS

  • A noticeable increase in cognitive ability, concentration & focus
  • Much more affordable than the flood of 'synthetic nootropics' on the market. Not to mention better for you and more effective!
  • A super quality product from a reputable company

CONS

  • Personally, I don't love the taste. But that could just be me?

Health Benefits of Neural Nectar:

According to ancient Taoist philosophy, the foundation of brain health relies on the wellness of all the five Yin organs: the lungs, heart, spleen, liver, and kidneys. The powerhouse herbs in this mix are skillfully combined to address all 5 Yin regions.

To briefly outline some of the most well-studied benefits of these herbs:

  • Aids with better clarity, focus and concentration
  • Helps to better adapt to stress
  • Can improve brain circulation and mental stamina
  • Assists with better blood flow and heart health
  • Can help elevate mood as well as alleviate depression & anxiety
  • Can help improve memory and reaction time
  • Combines for healthier skin, hair, and nails

Let's dive deeper into each individual ingredient and how it helps below:

Semi-Wild Mucuna (Mucuna pruriens):

Mucuna

Mucuna (also called the “velvet bean”) has been used by ancient herbalists for over 2,000 years as a tonic for the nervous system, to manage stress and to build healthy motor skills and coordination. It is most famous for being a herbal source of levodopa (L-dopa) which is the precursor to dopamine.

Semi-Wild Gingko (Ginkgo biloba):

Ginkgo Biloba

Ginkgo biloba is one of the oldest plants on Earth and has been used as a herbal remedy in human culture for millennia. Its greatest benefits are its ability to promote healthy brain function, increase focus and improve memory, with studies indicating it helps protect the body from mitochondrial damage and oxidative stress.

Lion’s Mane Mushroom (Hericium erinaceus):

Lion's Mane Mushroom

Lion's Mane mushroom is probably the worlds most famous and sought after natural 'nootropic' right now. Used for centuries for its brain, gut and immunity benefits - modern science is uncovering much about its benefits, especially relating to cognitive enhancement. Through its exceptionally high levels of nerve-growth-factor (NGF) and brain-derived-neurotrophic factor (BDNF), it's been found to help with mental stamina, memory, focus and concentration.

Semi-Wild White Peony (Paeonia lactiflora):

White Peony

White Peony is root is a nootropic and blood-building herb that has been used for many millennia. It is well-known for improving circulation, helping to relieve brain tension (e.g. headaches & migraines) and improve function.

Wild Rhodiola (Rhodiola rosea):

Rhodiola

Rhodiola is a potent adaptogen, nervine and neuro-protective tonic herb that helps build mental and physical resilience. It's an exceptional full-body health tonic and brain-supporting herb!

How to Take Neural Nectar:

As previously mentioned, it’s a bit too much for me in a normal coffee, but when combined with a bulletproof coffee - it's bang on.

The added flavour and texture from the butter and MCT oil round's it out perfectly, and also contributes to the nootropic brain-boosting benefits.

Don't be afraid to throw in some Mason’s Mushrooms as well, to amplify the health benefits (this is my current favourite combo to 'cover all bases')

If coffee is not your thing, it does also work well in all manner of hot or cold drinks, broths, smoothies and baking. Start out with adding ¼ to ½ tsp to your diet daily and working your way up from there.
