History of the Golden Latte
Traditionally used in Aryuvedic medicine some 4000 years ago, Turmeric Lattes (also known as Golden Milk, Turmeric Milk or Golden Lattes) have been recognised throughout history as a potent healer and protective medicine.
With the proliferation of cafe culture and healthy lifestyle movements in the last decade or so, Golden Milk has become extremely popular in the modern world and is again being recognised for its delicious flavour and health-promoting benefits!
Golden Grind Turmeric Latte Blend - Our Review:
The Golden Grind Turmeric Latte Mix a beautifully warming and nourishing blend that is super easy to prepare at home. It has smooth and calming 'chai-style' flavour profile and we love the traditional & simple recipe - turmeric, ginger, cinnamon and black pepper. Not all golden latte mixes are equal, Golden Grind ticks another box for us as it's entirely organic and uses the highest the quality turmeric (>5% curcumin levels) and cinnamon (Ceylon 'true cinnamon) available. Caffeine-free, we love this one as a healthy nightcap on a cold night and definitely notice a reduction in inflammation and joint stiffness when using it regularly.
Tumeric Latte Health Benefits:
While the individual components of a turmeric latte all have their own unique health properties, combining them all as a golden latte allows them to work harmoniously in the body and amplifies their health properties. Curcumin (the active ingredient in turmeric) can be very difficult for the human body to absorb if it isn't consumed in conjunction with a few key ingredients - notably black pepper and good fats.
Turmeric lattes are most widely known for their powerful anti-inflammatory properties but are also 'adaptogenic' and contain many other significant health benefits such as:
- Numerous antioxidants for cell protection and fighting free radicals
- Improved cognition and memory
- Improved blood and heart health
- Assist with lowering blood sugar levels
- Tumour and cancer-fighting properties
- Antibacterial, Antiviral and Antifungal properties.
