    Schisandra Berry

TEELIXIR SCHIZANDRA BERRY REVIEW BY DARCY - BIRCHER BAR FOUNDER & OWNER:

Teelixir's Schizandra Powder has a very unique taste, primarily sour but also showing slight bitter, sweet & salty notes as it's traditional Chinese name (Wu Wei Zi) suggests.

It's an easy one to use, you can simply follow Teelixir's recommendation and add it to both hot or cold beverages, meals and desserts (like the delicious recipe below) or you can simply stir a ½ tsp into a glass of warm water for a quick tonic tea each morning.

    What I Like:

Schizandra is believed to be one of the most complete tonic herbs, mainly due to the fact that it enters and supports all five major organs. Famous through the ages as a stress, skin health and anti-ageing supplement, it also has profound effects on many other areas of the body including brain health, liver and libido to name a few (all discussed in more detail further below).

It's one of my favourite tonic herbs as it is so well-rounded and ticks so many health boxes, reducing the cost and complication of trying to juggle 10 different supplements. I also love the uniquely sour taste!

What I Think Could Be Improved:

I love Teelixir as a company, they have brilliant ethics, top quality products and excellent customer service. The only comment I can make about any of their products so far is about the packaging. I’d love to see a more sustainable option, like Miron glass jars, even if it raises the price a little.
