Who is Byron Bay Coffee Company?:
The Byron Bay Coffee Company Certified Organic Blend is a multi-award-winning organic coffee displaying a well-rounded and deep flavour profile, with plenty of body and a rich aroma. Made from a unique blend of Australian and International organically-grown coffee beans, this is one of the healthiest and full-flavoured coffees on the market.
Why Drink Organic Coffee?:
In all the research I've done, 'organic' is a word that can unfortunately now be used as a marketing 'buzz' term for many products in the health food industry. That being said, when it's applied correctly and independently tested, there are a number of benefits including everything from improved health, less impact on the environment and better farming practices.
Currently rated the world's second most popular beverage after water (yep, you read that right), coffee forms an important part of most people's daily routine. If you're someone who loves a cup or two a day, it's important that you aren't taking in the plethora of fungicides, pesticides and other toxic chemicals that are typically used in conventional coffee growing.
True organic coffee is grown without any of these substances, creating a much better product for you and the environment. Furthermore, organic coffee is often higher in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants due to the high-quality soils in which it's grown.
From a production point of view, organic coffee farms are typically fair-trade operations as well, meaning that employees are given good work conditions and paid fairly. Most of these farms are 'shade-grown' and created with a 'permaculture focus', working with the environment around them and eliminating the need for clearing, deforestation, erosion and wildlife relocation.
Check out this great video below of Jim from Costa Rica who grows and processes his own organic coffee. He is a very well-researched man with some great insights into the benefits of growing organically.
