What is Melrose Fish Oil & Vitamin D?

Melrose Fish Oil + Vitamin D Joint & Bone combines essential omega-3 fatty acids with added vitamin D, specifically formulated to support musculoskeletal health.

The EPA and DHA omega-3s support healthy joint function and help maintain comfortable movement, while vitamin D plays a crucial role in calcium absorption and bone mineralisation.

Many Australians have suboptimal vitamin D levels, particularly those with limited sun exposure, indoor lifestyles, or darker skin tones.

This formula addresses both omega-3 and vitamin D needs in one convenient liquid supplement, sourced from sustainable wild-caught fish and formulated in Australia.

"Each 5ml dose contains:

Natural Fish Oil - Provides omega-3 fatty acids from sustainable wild-caught fish to support joint and overall health.

EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) - Supports joint comfort by promoting healthy inflammatory responses and maintaining synovial fluid health.

DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) - Supports overall cellular health and works synergistically with EPA for joint function.

Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) - The body's preferred form of vitamin D, essential for calcium absorption in the gut, bone mineralisation, muscle function, and immune system support."

Adults take 1 teaspoon (5mL) daily.

Children 2 to 12 years take 2.5mL daily or as directed by

your healthcare practitioner.

Best consumed with food to avoid any aftertaste.

If symptoms persist, talk to your health professional. Vitamins and mineral substances can only be of assistance when dietary intake is inadequate. Not to be used in children under 12 years of age without medical advice.

If you are pregnant, or considering becoming pregnant, advise your doctor of any medicine you take during pregnancy, particularly in your first trimester.

Formulated and packaged in Australia.

"I often see patients taking omega-3s and vitamin D separately without realising how well they work together — omega-3s modulate inflammation in joints, while D3 ensures calcium is actually utilised properly for bone strength. Having them combined just makes practical sense. The vitamin D is in D3 form, which is meaningfully more effective at raising blood levels than D2. For anyone focused on joint comfort and bone density as they age, this combination covers both bases efficiently."

Frequently asked question

This formula is particularly beneficial for: Those concerned about joint and bone health. People with limited sun exposure. Office workers. Older adults at risk of vitamin D deficiency. Anyone wanting to support their musculoskeletal system. Those already taking separate vitamin D supplements should check their total daily intake to avoid exceeding recommended levels.

Yes, just be mindful of your total daily intake. The Australian RDI of 600-800IU is the minimum to prevent deficiency, while 1000IU is a common supplemental dose. The safe upper limit for most adults is 4000IU daily. If you're already taking vitamin D and want to add another supplement containing it, check your combined total doesn't exceed this. Higher therapeutic doses are sometimes prescribed under professional supervision.Consult your healthcare professional if you are unsure about combining supplements.

EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids support joint health by promoting balanced inflammatory responses in the body. Chronic low-grade inflammation can affect joint comfort and mobility over time. Omega-3s are incorporated into cell membranes and help produce compounds called resolvins and protectins that support the body's natural resolution of inflammation.

This supplement can be part of a bone health strategy as vitamin D is essential for calcium absorption and bone mineralisation. However, it should complement—not replace—other bone health measures such as adequate calcium intake, weight-bearing exercise, and any prescribed osteoporosis treatments. Consult your healthcare professional for personalised advice.
