What is Melrose FutureLab Bone Matrix?

Melrose FutureLab Bone Matrix is a comprehensive bone health formula combining four key nutrients that work synergistically to support bone strength and mineralisation.

Bone is living tissue that constantly remodels throughout life, but as we age, the balance between bone formation and resorption can shift.

This formula provides calcium and magnesium in highly absorbable chelated forms, vitamin D3 to enhance calcium absorption, and MenaQ7® vitamin K2 to help direct calcium to where it's needed in the bones rather than soft tissues.

Designed for adults seeking proactive bone health support, particularly those with inadequate dietary intake or limited sun exposure.

Each capsule contains:

Colecalciferol (Vitamin D3) - The body's preferred form of vitamin D, essential for intestinal calcium absorption and bone mineralisation.

Calcium (from Hydroxyapatite and Calcium Glycinate) - Provided in two complementary forms. Hydroxyapatite delivers calcium in its natural bone matrix form, while glycinate offers superior absorption.

Magnesium Glycinate - Essential for bone formation and works with vitamin D to support calcium metabolism. Glycinate form is gentle on the stomach.

MenaQ7® Menaquinone-7 (Vitamin K2) - A highly bioavailable, all-trans form of K2 that activates osteocalcin, directing calcium into bones and away from arteries.

Adults - Take one to four capsules daily with water, or as directed by your health professional.

Vitamins and minerals can only be of assistance if dietary intake is inadequate.

Do not exceed 4 capsules a day.

Store below 25°C away from direct sunlight.

Do not use if tamper evident seals are broken or missing.

"Most people think bone health is just about calcium — but calcium without the right co-factors often doesn't end up where you need it. What I like about this formula is that MenaQ7® K2 activates the proteins that direct calcium into bone tissue, while the chelated forms of calcium and magnesium — hydroxyapatite and glycinate — are far better absorbed than the cheaper oxide forms used in most supplements. Vitamin D3 completes the picture by supporting calcium absorption in the first place. It's a formula that understands how these nutrients actually work together."

Frequently asked question

Vitamin K2 activates proteins called osteocalcin and matrix GLA protein that regulate where calcium is deposited in the body. Osteocalcin draws calcium into bones, while matrix GLA protein helps prevent calcium from accumulating in arteries and soft tissues. Without adequate K2, calcium supplementation may be less effective and could potentially contribute to arterial calcification.

MenaQ7® is a patented, clinically studied form of vitamin K2 (menaquinone-7) derived from natto, a traditional Japanese fermented food. It is the only K2 with published research demonstrating benefits for bone and cardiovascular health. MenaQ7® has a longer half-life than other K2 forms, remaining active in the body for up to 72 hours.

Vitamin K2 can interfere with blood thinning medications like warfarin, which work by blocking vitamin K activity. If you are taking anticoagulants, do not start this supplement without consulting your doctor. Your INR levels may need to be monitored and medication adjusted if K2 supplementation is recommended.

Adults generally need 1000-1300mg of calcium daily from all sources. At the full dose of 4 capsules, Bone Matrix provides 200mg calcium, designed to complement dietary calcium intake rather than replace it. Most people get 300-600mg from food, so this helps bridge the gap. Taking excessive calcium from supplements alone is not recommended.
